Did you panic the moment you found out you were going to be a parent for the first time? You’re not alone.

During a cover story for PEOPLE, Grammy winner Pink admitted she was terrified when she became a mother for the first time. She convinced herself she was going to be a terrible mother.

I did not know I was going to have a family. I didn’t picture that for myself because I was terrified I would be a terrible mother. But, oh my God, being a mom is the most incredible thing I’ve ever done. It’s shocking how responsible I’ve become.

The 43-year-old artist shares two kids (11-year-old Willow and 6-year-old Jameson) with her husband, Carey Hart.

Pink revealed she’s in full mom mode at this point in her life. Just last week, she was in charge of snacks for her son’s basketball game and next week she was set to chaperone her daughter’s dance.

“Who am I?” she joked, before adding, “But I love it.”

Still though, difficult moments happen. Pink still has a career after all, and later this year, she’s going to miss one of her daughter’s theater productions because she’ll be on tour.

We finally had to have this really teary conversation about what I do and that it’s hard as a mom, and that’s why not a lot of moms do it. I told her, ‘It’s going to suck, and I won’t go longer than 10 days without you . . . or I’ll quit. I’ll walk away tomorrow. What do you want?’ And she was like, ‘Don’t quit, Mama. I will just miss you sometimes.’

How sweet. Sounds like Pink is far from a terrible mother.
