Happy days for Elijah Wood and his longtime partner, Mette-Marie Kongsved. During a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 42-year-old ‘Lord of the Rings‘ actor revealed he and Kongsved now have two children together.
This was a bit of a surprise because the world only knew of the one. The admission came while he was describing his typical routine in the morning.
We’ve got a 3-year-old son and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early. I like getting up early, I like starting the day.
So it looks like Wood and Kongsved welcomed their first daughter together in January of 2022. He didn’t reveal her name or anything like that, but he did talk about what he likes to feed his children for breakfast.
I like to make oatmeal with various spices, peanut butter and fruit—banana, apples, blackberries. I also really like overnight oats or muesli with yogurt, and I sometimes eat that with them.
Don’t expect to see any photos of the family anytime soon. Wood is a pretty private person, which is why his Instagram is set to private.
I wanted to be able to share photos that I didn’t necessarily want to share with the world. An account that’s public-facing would really change what I share. It’s not like I’m sharing anything that I wouldn’t want to go out, but I’m a relatively private person.
For those who don’t know, Wood and Kongsved have been together since 2018. She’s a producer, and it’s believed she and Wood first met while filming the indie hit, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore.
