25-year-old tennis star Naomi Osaka knows everything there is to know about the game of tennis, but now she’s having to learn everything about another little game called motherhood.
During a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Osaka opened up about her pregnancy experience so far. She revealed that she and her boyfriend Cordae are trying to come up with unique baby names. They don’t want a traditional name. It doesn’t sound like they’ve locked in on a name yet.
What about pregnancy cravings? Well, not so much. She says she thought she would have a ton of weird pregnancy cravings, but so far, she hasn’t craved anything out of the ordinary.

And even though pregnancy can be challenging, Osaka says she has a good support system around her.
There are several mothers in my life, all at different phases of motherhood. It’s been nice having them share recommendations and tips along the way. I would say for me, I just want to be the best version of myself. Obviously, I’ve never been a mother before so I’m taking it day-by-day and just trying to be someone that my son or daughter will be proud of.
We think she’s well on her way! No word on an exact due date, but we will keep you posted as her pregnancy progresses.
And yes, she does plan to return to the tennis court. She says she can’t wait to look out in the stands and see her kid cheering her on.
I can’t wait to have my kid in the stands at tournaments. I feel like having them there watching will be extra motivation.
