If you haven’t been watching Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show, well, you’ve been missing out on some pretty great moments.
One happened this past Tuesday when Clarkson interviewed ‘Barry‘ star Henry Winkler. During their discussion, Clarkson brought up Winkler’s success as an author. He’s written over 40 books, including 30 children’s books.
This was amazing and inspiring to Clarkson.
I was driving my daughter to school yesterday, and she’s dyslexic. And you have told me that you’re dyslexic as well. I find that amazing, to tell my daughter that you’ve written like 40 books and you’re dyslexic. She had been getting bullied at school for not being able to read like all the other kids.
Clarkson went on to say she didn’t know how common the learning difference was. Winkler pointed out that 1 in 5 children are diagnosed.
“She’s part of the tribe,” he smiled, and then spoke directly to Clarkson’s daughter, “River! How you learn has nothing to do with how brilliant you are.”
This simple message caused Clarkson to tear up. It was a pretty special moment. You can just see how much love she has for her kids.
For those who don’t know, the 40-year-old star shares 8-year-old River and 7-year-old Remy with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. They actually had a pretty messy divorce, but it looks like they have finally figured out how to coparent.
