Have you heard the news? Jennifer Lopez is set to star in an action-fueled thriller titled, The Mother. The movie is set to be released on Netflix next weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day.
And during a screening for the film on Thursday, Lopez talked to the audience at The Whitby Hotel in New York City.
I think that there are some beautiful themes in here about what it is to be a mother, what it is to want to protect something with your entire life, as we do with our children.
She called the experience “cathartic” and talked about how much she related to the story as a mother to two teenagers.
Lopez told the audience she became a “better mother” while filming the movie and working with her on-screen daughter, Lucy Gaez.
It was a great experience to have her mouthing off to me on the set and then go home and have the same experience at home. But it really was a kind of growing experience for me. I honestly think that during this movie, I became a better mother. Because it made me really think about a lot of things as it pertained to my child and what I wanted them to know, what I wanted them to learn and who I wanted to be to them.
You’ll remember, Lopez also recently praised Ben Affleck’s skills as a stepfather to her children, so it sounds like great parenting is in the air!
