It’s all smiles and love for Daniel Radcliffe and his girlfriend, Erin Darke. They welcomed their first baby boy together earlier this spring.
There were rumors of this happening, but now Radcliffe has officially confirmed it. The new dad spoke to Entertainment Tonight about being a parent for the first time.
It’s great. It’s crazy and intense, but he’s wonderful and Erin is amazing — it’s a real privilege also to have this time with him. I was always going to take some time off, which not everyone is able to do, and so I’m able to kind of just be here with him a lot, which is lovely.
Radcliffe and Darke were spotted pushing a stroller in New York City back in April, which was the first piece of evidence the couple welcomed a baby together.
Now that they’re settling into parenthood, Radcliffe is starting to see how his son might impact his career moving forward.
He was asked if he thought being a dad will impact the roles he chooses in the future…
I think it certainly will. It hasn’t really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year. So, I will definitely be I think a bit more selective — not more selective, I’ve always been selective, but I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years. I’ll never be stopping. I don’t think that’s good for me either.
And that’s a decision he can make with ease because he’s no longer acting for money. Thanks to the success of the ‘Harry Potter‘ franchise, Radcliffe has a net worth over $100 million!
