Maria Menounos has not had an easy journey to motherhood. The 45-year-old host and her TV writer husband Keven Undergaro had been trying to have a baby for years, but it just wasn’t working out for them.
In addition to their fertility struggles, Menounos has had to deal with a brain tumor and pancreatic cancer. Safe to say, it’s been a wild past few years, but things are finally looking up.
She and her husband welcomed their first baby together via surrogate last month. Maria guest hosted Live with Kelly and Mark on Thursday (July 20) and she talked about how great motherhood has been treating her.
No, she’s sleeping really well actually. She’s amazing, she’s such a good baby. We’re just so overjoyed. It’s the greatest feeling in the world. I never knew when my would be like, ‘Life is about kids and family,’ and I was so busy with my career and running around. Now I get it. It really is. This is just the greatest feeling in the world.
You could just see how happy she was when she spoke about her baby. This is clearly something she has been wanting for such a long time.
Mark asked Maria if her husband has changed any diapers yet, and surprisingly… he has!
Yeah, he does. He hasn’t done a lot of them. So yesterday, before I left, he was changing her diaper. And you know, when you’re not doing it all the time, maybe you’re not great at it. So I’ll fix a few things in there, and try to keep him confident. Don’t want to break his confidence.
Smart.
