Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos share three children together: 25-year-old Michael, 22-year-old Lola, and 20-year-old Joaquin.
And throughout their parenting journey, they’ve been extremely open… sometimes too open. On Wednesday’s episode of her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, the 52-year-old host revealed that her daughter Lola has walked in on her parents having sex twice.
To make matters worse, both times were on her birthday. The first time was on Lola’s 8th birthday. They were on a family vacation in Italy and Kelly and Mark “had not had a lot of alone time” so they decided to try to sneak in something quick while the kids were sleeping.
I encouraged him [Mark] to lock…[the] door, and he tells me he did. All I know is, at a certain point, I made eye contact with my 8-year-old daughter who is standing at the foot of the bed. She told me she came in because she was thirsty.
The second time happened on Lola’s 16th birthday, and this time she had a much worse reaction.
The same thing happened eight years later on her 16th birthday. Same exact thing. She threw the door open. ‘Oh my god, life is over, I used to see in color and now everything is gray. How could you do this to me? What is wrong with you people?’ she said all that. The moral of the story is that she never learned to knock.
I’m sure this happens to a lot of parents, but do we really need to tell the world about it?
