34-year-old actress (and grandchild of Elvis Presley) Riley Keough talked with Vanity Fair this month to discuss her decision to use a surrogate to welcome her daughter.

As some of you may have heard, Riley and her husband Michael Lockwood welcomed their first daughter together via surrogate back in August of 2022.

She told Vanity Fair that surrogacy was the best option for her…

I can carry children, but it felt like the best choice for what I had going on physically with the autoimmune stuff.

For those who don’t know, Riley has been suffering with Lyme disease for a few years now. She has been open about how much the disease has impacted her health.

The Daisy Jones & The Six star also talked about the meaningful name she chose for her baby girl.

This is Tupelo. It’s funny because we picked her name before the Elvis movie. I was like, ‘This is great because it’s not really a well-known word or name in relation to my family — it’s not like Memphis or something. Then when the Elvis movie came out, it was like, Tupelo this and Tupelo that. I was like, ‘Oh, no’, but it’s fine.

Elvis was of course born in Tupelo, Mississippi.

She also revealed her daughter’s middle name is Storm, which is a tribute to her late brother, Benjamin Storm, who died by suicide in 2020 at the young age of 27.
