Maria Menounos has struggled a lot these past few years with some serious health complications, including the removal of a tumor and pancreatic cancer.
Thankfully, she has made a full recovery, and throughout it all, she welcomed her first baby girl via surrogate back in June of this year. Motherhood is a dream she’s been chasing for years, so to finally have it now is a miracle for her.
During a recent conversation with PEOPLE, the 45-year-old star spoke on how she’s been enjoying motherhood so far.
It’s been heaven. Heaven, heaven, heaven. She’s such a smiley, happy baby. We are so blessed to have a healthy baby. I know that can’t be taken for granted at all, so every day, we pray and we say thank you to God for her health.
For those who don’t know, she shares her baby girl with her husband, Keven Undergaro. They’ve been married since 2017, and from what we’ve heard, they are still madly in love with each other.

Menounos said one of the most important things she’s learned about parenting is simply to be present.
I think all moms are going to have those moments [of doubt] and it’s one of the things that I’m focusing on, which is why I have on my bar, ‘be present for family.’ I want to remember — in those moments when the doorbell’s ringing incessantly and someone’s calling me for this or for that and the emails are popping in — that I don’t have to panic because I am stressed from trying to please everybody. I just have to take care of her.
A nice reminder. With all the technology we have these days, it’s easy to be in one place while simultaneously being somewhere else.
Sometimes it’s nice to just be fully present in one place.
