There’s nothing sadder than baby shower drama. In what should be a time of celebration, one soon-to-be-mom is finding herself in a bizarre feud with one of her friends who attended the party.

The expectant mother shared her story on Reddit’s AITA subreddit. She explained that initially she made an effort to have a women-only gathering. However, many of her guests started inviting along their husbands, boyfriends, and children. Eventually, to avoid conflict, she kinda just said “whatever” and allowed everyone to come, including her fiancé.

The original poster (OP), who had her 5-year-old son with her at the event, encountered an issue when it was time to unwrap gifts from her guests. She had previously informed her son that he could assist in opening presents for his incoming baby brother. She saw this as an excellent opportunity to capture some adorable photos with her, her son, and her fiancé in front of the balloon arch and decorations.

But then another little boy who is friends with the son asked his mom if he could help open presents as well, his mom replied, “Oh! That sounds like a great idea! Go ask OP.”

The expectant mom said, ‘When the little boy ran up to me, I didn’t know how to tell him no.’ My mom and my friend tried speaking to his mom quietly without the kid hearing, but she insisted, ‘OP wouldn’t mind. My son is a sweet kid, he’d be so happy doing the presents.’

So the kid opened the presents with the family, and as a result, he was in every single photo, which led to OP photoshopping him out of some, so that they could have a few family photos together.

[I] later used Photoshop to remove the other kid so I could have a photo of just me, my son, and my fiancé. The mother is very upset with me saying I shouldn’t have removed her son from the photos and that it hurts her feelings I would so easily exclude her son.

Yikes. Honestly, I’d drop that friend. If she can’t understand that it’s your special day, then… that’s on her. She’s trying to make it about herself and her kid, and I personally think that’s a no-no.
