Kelly Clarkson released a new track on the deluxe version of her new album, Chemistry, and it’s a pretty special one because it features an intro and outro from her daughter, River.

On Instagram, the 41-year-old mom of two revealed River recorded the track (You Don’t Make Me Cry) when she was just 5-years-old.

The song, ‘You Don’t Make Me Cry,’ begins with River singing some sounds in an adorably auto-tuned vocal run that leads into Clarkson’s catchy pop track. The little girl’s voice appears once again at the track’s conclusion, where she sweetly says, ‘The End!’

For those who don’t know, Clarkson shares River and 7-year-old Remington with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. They divorced back in 2020 and it was pretty messy for a year or two. Thankfully, co-parenting has been going decently between them in recent months.

Clarkson talks a lot about her kids during interviews, often highlighting how well they’re able to share their feelings at such a young age.

I think it’s just a really cool thing that my little girl or little boy will walk in the room and be like, ‘Look, I’m feeling hurt right now, or this hurts my feelings,’ Things they do, I never did as a kid, and they’re just so advanced for where I was at their age, and I just think there’s nothing more beautiful than someone learning at a very young age how to express themselves and to actually pay attention to how they’re feeling.

We could not agree more.
