Nothing is more fulfilling than watching your children grow up and chase their dreams… just ask Gwen Stefani.
The 53-year-old rock singer talked to PEOPLE this week about what it was like watching her 17-year-old son, Kingston, perform his original songs live for the first time.
If you missed it, you can check out a clip of him performing below. He performed at Blake Shelton’s bar and music venue in Oklahoma. Shelton has reportedly been helping Kingston write music, and we have to imagine Kingston is grateful. After all, not every kid can have Gwen Stefani as a mom, Gavin Rossdale as a father, and Shelton as a stepdad.

Gwen was a proud mama watching on from the crowd. She explained to PEOPLE that Kingston has been working hard, writing songs and working with a vocal coach.
King has been writing a bunch of amazing songs. When it’s your kid, it’s like, you love everything, but this is next level to me. These are really good songs. So Blake said, ‘Hey, we got to go live now.’ It’s so different than writing a song — being able to sing live is a whole ‘nother thing.’
Safe to say, Kingston knocked it out of the park and Gwen was in tears during the whole performance…
I was bawling. It’s crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you’re like, ‘Wow.’ I’m so happy for him that he has that outlet. I think back to when I was in No Doubt, and I was exactly his age when [the band] got together. I wasn’t even baked at all yet! I was still raw, and had no idea what I was going to do.
One thing’s for sure, if Kingston wants to seriously pursue a career in music, he definitely has the right connections.
