At just 23-years-old, ‘American Idol‘ alum Gabby Barrett is pregnant with her third baby, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She and her husband Cade Foehner announced that they were expecting their third child together back on August 30. It was a bit of a surprise to her fans, given the fact that they just welcomed their second baby less than one year ago.
But Barrett loves being a full-time mother and she’s always wanted a big family. During a recent conversation with PEOPLE, the country music star revealed she and Cade are expecting a baby girl…
My first was a girl, second was a boy, third will be a girl again. So love girls, love raising my first one. So lots of personalities in the house. My first understands that there’s a baby and what’s in mom’s belly. And she always feels my belly and lays on it, and kisses it, which is very sweet. She’s 2½ and so she understands it all and is very excited for her sister.
Barrett does admit that while she loves being a mother, there are some downsides… namely the lack of sleep.
The biggest challenge of being a mom is loss of sleep. I think any parent will say that. And then when you add another child to the mix, you kind of have to rebalance and reorganize and get everybody’s schedules down. So it’s just a matter of being prepared to kind of lose that sleep at first, but you regain it back, so it’s good.
Gabby’s third baby is expected to arrive in February, so they still have a handful of months to stock up on some sleep.
