Al Roker welcomed his first grandchild into the world earlier this year, which was a pretty special moment for the entire Roker family. You’ll remember, the past two years have been incredibly difficult for the family, mainly due to Al’s multiple health scares.

But these days, it’s all good, and instead of worrying about an upcoming surgery, Al is worrying about taking care of a 3-month-old for the first time in two decades.

The 69-year-old TODAY co-anchor shared photos on his Instagram this past weekend, documenting his first time watching his 3-month-old granddaughter, Sky, overnight.

He captioned the post, “The perfect weekend. Thanks to @ouichefroker and @thatteacherwhodjs for letting me babysit my little Sky Clara over the weekend. I forgot how hard a 3+ month old is on your own. 24 hours without a shower. Whew.”

How adorable! It’s so nice to see him happy and healthy again.

Roker has previously talked about how emotional it was holding his granddaughter for the first time, telling his TODAY co-anchors…

The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing’ and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect.

Congrats, Al!
