30-year-old actress Keke Palmer gave birth to her first baby nearly one year ago, and she has learned a lot in the first 11 months of motherhood.
During a conversation with Teen Vogue, she talked about how important it is to surround yourself with the right people.
The village is really important. It’s more about keeping Leo insulated with the people that I know and trust, that don’t just love him, but love themselves. That’s really big. It’s important that he has good examples. He observes everything. It’s about giving him the proper role models and making sure my family is around.
Part of her village includes her sister. She actually shares a home in Los Angeles with her sister and her kids. And she recently revealed her parents are going to move to California soon as well, so they can be closer to the family.
She wants to start family traditions and have big holiday celebrations. “Tradition is a big part of the village,” she noted.
For those who don’t remember, she welcomed little Leo with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson. They are currently in a legal battle after Keke accused Jackson of physical and verbal abuse.
