As most of you know, action movie star Bruce Willis had to retire from acting back in 2022 after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. It’s one of the more common types of dementia for people under the age of 60. It appears Willis was around 65 when he was diagnosed.
Bruce shares three kids with his ex, Demi Moore. The 61-year-old actress spoke to Good Morning America this week about Bruce’s condition.
“I think given the givens, he’s doing very well,” she revealed, before adding some advice she’s been sharing with her kids…
What I’ll share is what I say to my children, which is, it’s important to just meet them where they’re at and not hold on to what isn’t, but what is. Because there’s great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that.
That is such useful advice, and honestly, that advice doesn’t just apply to their unique situation. It would benefit all of us to focus more on what’s currently in front of us.
Bruce and Demi’s 29-year-old daughter, Tallulah, was on The Drew Barrymore Show back in November of 2023, and she had this to say about her father…
He is the same, which I think in this regard I’ve learned is the best thing you can ask for. I see love when I’m with him, and it’s my dad, and he loves me, which is really special.
