Do you miss the old Jennifer Lopez? The Jenny from the Block, Lopez? You’re not alone, even her kids miss her old music.
During an interview with Variety, the 54-year-old singer revealed her latest album, This Is Me…Now, which is a follow-up to her 2002 album This Is Me…Then, was partly inspired by her 15-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
Apparently, she was playing her old album one day in the house, and her kids were actually diggin’ it…
They said, ‘Is this you, Mommy?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, this is an album I did 18 years ago.’ I played them another song and asked them if they liked it, and they said yes, and I said, ‘I wrote this.’ And then they’re like, ‘Yeah, we like this more than the music you make now,’ Ouch. But a good ouch.
Kids are good at that, huh? They can build you up and tear you down in the same sentence.
Lopez shares her twins with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. As most of you know, she’s now married to Ben Affleck, which means she’s a stepmom now as well. Ben has three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Last we heard, co-parenting is going well with everyone. There’s no bad blood between them and they’ve had nothing but positive things to say about one another.
