Shakira was interviewed by Zane Lowe this past week, and during the interview, she talked a little about her sons, 11-year-old Milan and 9-year-old Sasha.
For those who don’t know, she shares both boys with her ex Gerard Pique. They split in 2022 after being together for over 10 years. It was a shock to Shakira’s system, and she has previously admitted the first few months after the split were the most difficult months of her life.
And those early days were also hard on her sons. While talking to Lowe, the 47-year-old singer revealed her 11-year-old son found healing through music.
I remember he wrote two beautiful songs during the whole separation process. He wrote two songs on piano and lyrics. And whenever he feels a little down, he goes to the piano and he writes. And that also is his catharsis, his therapy. I think he’s probably going to be a producer, but he’s obsessed with football.
She also revealed her youngest son loves music as well and is currently learning how to play the guitar.
Sasha is learning how to play guitar and Milan is a really cool drummer and so he gets on the drums, Sash on guitar, I sing, and we jam at home.
