Jennifer Garner shares three kids with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. They have two daughters, Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15, as well as a 12-year-old son named Samuel.
And according to insiders, Garner is a terrific mother, which makes sense. She seems like such a sweet, caring person, which is one of the qualities you need as a mom.
The 51-year-old actress recently talked to PEOPLE and revealed it’s so wonderful seeing her kids grow up and figure out who they are and what they want to do with their lives.
But she does admit it’s hard to let them make their own decisions…
I mean, my parents did too, and I’m so amazed by that. I have a really hard time not saying, ‘This is what I see you as,’ and ‘I think you should,’ I really have to sit on my hands.
Those are good phrases to avoid. You have to let your kid find their way in life. Of course, if they ask for your opinion, you should give them advice, but try to avoid using language that implies you have it all figured out for them.
