Being a working mom isn’t easy. 54-year-old ‘No Doubt‘ singer Gwen Stefani has three sons with her ex Gavin Rossdale, and now that her youngest is already 10-years-old, she feels more confident in her parenting skills these days. She’s able to handle the work-life balance.
But rewind 10 or 15 years ago? She was struggling.
In an interview with NYLON Print, Stefani talked about those early days of trying to be a mom for the first time while also recording and going on tour with her band.
I would be leaving my family. And if I didn’t come home with a song, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m such a loser — I didn’t have dinner with my family, and I didn’t write a song. I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again. I look at it now and I think, ‘God, what was I doing trying to please everybody?’ Because really, I should have just been with my family.
You live and learn, right? No parent is going to look back and think, “Wow! I made all the right decisions!”
Back in October, Stefani got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she made sure her three sons, along with her new husband, Blake Shelton, were there to support her.

Looks like one happy family!
