57-year-old comedian Jim Gaffigan shares five kids with his wife Jeannie, so Mother’s Day is a pretty special day in their household.
He was on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week when Clarkson brought up how Mother’s Day has turned into like a “hero moment” for mothers.
Gaffigan replied:
Yeah, I mean the mother is the hero. Well, some of it is, you know, I have this joke where I say being a dad is like being a backup quarterback in the NFL. You’re on the team but you’re not the star. And on those rare occasions that you’re brought into the game, people are nervous, you know?
That’s pretty accurate, although, we shouldn’t let this turn into a weaponized incompetence moment, which is basically when men play dumb so they don’t have to do anything. IT’S REAL THING, OKAY?
We’re sure Gaffigan helps out in his own special way though. We know he brings home the bacon, that’s for sure. He has a net worth just north of $30 million.
