On a recent episode of the ‘Happy Sad Confused‘ podcast, 53-year-old actor Jeremy Renner revealed he was asked to reprise his role as William Brandt in the latest ‘Mission: Impossible‘ film.
But he decided to turn it down so he could spend time with his 11-year-old daughter, Ava, who he shares with his ex, Sonni Pacheco.
There [was] no schedule, so I can’t go out for a year and a half. I gotta go be a dad. I can’t just move my daughter out here because [her] mom is — you know, I was landlocked out here. I couldn’t film overseas anymore.
One has to wonder if he would have made this same decision before his life-changing accident in the mountains. For those who don’t remember, he was crushed by a snow plow. He nearly died and spent weeks inside the hospital, then had to do intense physical therapy for over a year to be able to walk again.
After going through something like that, your priorities in life kinda change a little bit.
He recently celebrated his daughter’s birthday on his Instagram, writing, “As she grows, so grows our love, respect, and adoration … Happy 11th Birthday to my number one ❤️🔥🎁❤️🎁 #luckyman🍀”
