In a new interview with BBC on Wednesday, July 24, global superstar Janet Jackson opened up about her experience as a mother.
For those who don’t know, the 58-year-old singer shares a 7-year-old son named Eissa with her ex-husband, Wissam Mana.
“Being a mom is the most beautiful thing. I love every minute of it,” she told the paper. She doesn’t talk about her parenting life all that often.
But back in 2020, she told Jimmy Fallon that her son showed an interest in music at a very early age.
At two-years-old, he chose the violin and he loves classical music. First day of school, he took the violin to school. Third day of school he says, ‘Mama, I want to take a cello to school.’ I said, ‘Baby, you don’t have a cello.’… He said, ‘Turn my violin into a cello. Please, Mama.’
Honestly… we don’t blame him for thinking his mom has superpowers. She is a legend. If anyone can turn a violin into a cello, it’s her.
We don’t know much about her co-parenting journey with her ex-husband, but we do know Jackson had wanted to be a mother for a long time, and in a previous interview, she admitted she wanted to have at least two or three kids, but she’s grateful to have the one.
