Life is getting complicated for Hollywood actor, Joey Lawrence. According to recent court documents, his estranged wife, Samantha Cope, filed for divorce less than two weeks ago, citing irreconcilable differences.
And now we are learning she’s seeking full custody of their 19-month-old daughter, Dylan Rose.
Cope requested sole physical custody of their toddler while permitting Lawrence visitation at her discretion. She specified that once Dylan is 3 years old, Lawrence ‘will have the option to take her for 2 nights in her home location if he is not working and can facilitate her visiting.’
Wow. That’s rough. He can’t take her until she’s three? She’s not even two yet!
She also made it clear to the court that she doesn’t want Lawrence to take Dylan for long, extended amount of times until she is old enough to specifically ask for the visitation time. Of course, one could argue she might not ever ask for that if she doesn’t spend any time with him beforehand.
Once Lawrence is able to take her overnight, Cope is requesting that he’s there with her throughout her stay. She doesn’t want him hiring a nanny or any non-family member.
Yikes! Safe to say, their marriage did not end well. We don’t want to speculate, but it certainly sounds like he may have done her wrong in some way.
Cope and Lawrence started dating in 2021 after working on a Lifetime movie together. They got married in the summer of 2022.
