Andy Cohen is known for being the life of the party. The “Watch What Happens Live” host is always making people laugh, or perhaps cringe sometimes.
But off camera, he’s just a father trying his best.
For those who don’t know, the 56-year-old entertainer has a 5-year-old son named Ben and a 2-year-old daughter named Lucy.
During an appearance on David Duchovny’s podcast, Fail Better, Cohen got real and opened up about his struggles as a single father. He said that he’s not typically one to experience self-doubt, but when it comes to parenting? He’s doubting everything.
I told you earlier that I wasn’t someone that had a lot of self-doubt. But, I mean, this will do it to you — being a parent. You start to question everything, especially as a single parent. I mean, there’s a whole world of worry that I never had.
Cohen then talked about how he wants his kids to know there are other single parents out there. He doesn’t want his kids to think they’re the only ones without two parents in the household.
You don’t want to feel alone. You don’t wanna feel like, ‘Oh, I’m not, you know, I’m the only one without a mom, or I’m the only one without two dads, or a mom and a dad, whatever.’ And they don’t, I have to say,. There are other single parents that they know, and there’s a lot of gay dads in their lives, so they see.
Just the fact that Cohen is worrying about all this gives enough proof to certify him as an awesome dad! Keep doing you, Cohen!
