‘Arrested Development‘ star Will Arnett is 54-years-old now and has been a father for over a decade, so he’s a seasoned pro at this point.
But rewind back to when he was 38? He had no idea. During a recent interview on the Our Way with Paul Anka and Skip Bronson podcast, Arnett talked about how much his life changed when he had his first son at the age of 38.
I’m crazy about my kids. I always joked that before I had kids, I didn’t notice them. I didn’t have my first son until I was 38. And then you have kids of your own and you go, ‘Wow!’ It really brought everything into focus for me in life and it really put everything into perspective,
Yeah, they’ll do that. For those who don’t know, Arnett has a total of three children. He has a 15 and a 14-year-old son with his ex Amy Poehler. He also has a 4-year-old son with his girlfriend, Alessandra Brawn.
Arnett explained how there were always things that took priority in his 20s and early 30s, but when he had kids, they jumped to the top of his list…
I really got a lot out of spending time [with them] and being a dad. And you know, I did it all. I coached Little League for five years when I was [on TV]. At one point, one fall, I was on two shows — because I was doing a show for NBC, plus we were bringing Arrested Development back. I was going nuts man! But it was actually those moments being with the kids that actually kind of brought my blood pressure down.
Sounds like being a dad is just in his DNA!
