When you direct — especially the kind of director that I am, and that I’ve witnessed all the directors that I’ve admired be — you live with a movie for years. I just want to make sure that my kids are old enough where they don’t even notice that I’m gone. I always walk around with a heavy heart every time I’m away from them.”
We respect her decision to put her dreams on hold to be a fully present mother. That’s not easy to do. A lot of people forget parents still have their own hopes and dreams as well.
Earlier this month, Zoe shared a post on her Instagram celebrating working mothers around the world. She captioned the post, “Being on the road is hard when you’re away from your children. To all the moms out there making the ultimate sacrifice for their dreams. Those dreams are their’s too! Trust the process.”
