Keira Knightley has been starring in Hollywood movies for decades now. She famously starred in the hit film franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. She starred in a total of four films for the franchise, and it took up multiple years of her life.
And even though she enjoyed the process, and made lots of money from it, she has no plans to make a return to any movie franchise in the near future.
During an interview with The Times, the 39-year-old actress talked about how different her life is now that she’s a mom to daughters, Edie, 9, and Delilah, 5.
I couldn’t go job to job [abroad] now. It wouldn’t be in any way fair to them, and I wouldn’t want to. I’ve chosen to have children, I want to bring them up, so I’ve had to take a major step back. The hours are insane. It’s years of your life, you have no control over where you’re filming, how long you’re filming, what you’re filming.
Sounds like she’s simply putting her family first. We obviously support that 100%.
Knightley also explained that her daughters don’t seem to have any interest in watching her work. They do love the Harry Potter films at the moment, but were disappointed when they saw Emma Watson starring in a different movie.
Her daughter apparently said, “Actors shouldn’t play other characters,” to which Knightley replied, “Well, we wouldn’t live in this house, darling.”
LOL!
