Kelly Clarkson has been divorced for a few years now, and one might think she’d be ready to hit the dating scene again. After all, she’s in the best shape of her life and just moved to NYC in 2023.
Over 8 million people live in the city… surely there is someone for her!
Unfortunately, her kids don’t want her to start dating. She shares 10-year-old River and 8-year-old Remy with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
A source told PEOPLE that her kids have made their stance very clear…
Kelly kind of lives in a bubble. She’s all about the kids and work. She loves being a mom. Her kids have been clear that they don’t want her to date, so she’s not. She feels very satisfied with life as it is. She knows as the kids get older, dating will be easier. This is not anything she misses at the moment.
It’s worth noting though that while Kelly might be okay not dating right now, it’s certainly on her mind in the future.
Just last month, she told a radio show that she’s not currently looking for anyone special, but she did tell her kids, “I have expressed like, ‘Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs loving too.'”
So, honestly, we think it’s only a matter of time before she hits the dating scene again.
