Jennifer Love Hewitt’s most iconic role is in the 1997 horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer. It’s a cult classic and completely ridiculous, but also a lot of fun.
During a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 45-year-old actress revealed that her two eldest kids, Autumn, 11, and Atticus, 9, have already watched the scary movie.
They’re horror people, so they wanted to see it. It was so crazy seeing myself at 18. I look so much like my daughter, it’s crazy. They loved it. They were like, ‘Mommy, this is so crazy. This is so cool.’ It was fun to go back and remember things that happened during that movie and share it with them. It’s such a surreal moment to sit with your kids and watch yourself as a kid.
Thankfully, her youngest son, 3-year-old Aidan, has not watched the movie. It’ll probably be several years before he’s allowed to watch it.
For those who don’t know, there’s actually I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot hitting theaters next summer (2025) and Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. will be reprising their roles.
So it looks like another family movie night is in the cards for the Hewitt family!
