Tyler Perry has a lot of money. Like, a lot a lot. His net worth sits at $1.4 billion. That’s right… BILLION! The 55-year-old actor/producer/writer worked hard for his money.
And he wants to make sure his 10-year-old son, Aman, knows the importance of hard work.
During an interview with Sherri Shepherd, Perry revealed that his son only gets two gifts on Christmas, “Books and Legos,” he revealed.
Sherri replied, “That’s it?” and that’s when Perry shot back, “He don’t have a job! What else is he going to get?”
We don’t blame him one bit. Aman has a billionaire for a father, so he’s already going to have luxuries most kids his age don’t. He doesn’t need extra just because it’s Christmas.
Perry went on to explain that he knew he had to dial it back a bit when he noticed his son becoming too accustomed to flying in private jets. He remembers a time when Aman was five and he complained about long lines at the airport.
He’s been going coach for years. So that he understands I worked, he did not! So when he works, he can learn that lesson. He’s not going to be one of those ridiculous spoiled rich kids. I can’t stand that. No! He ain’t got no money!
We have to applaud Perry for this. Not many billionaires share this same thought. His son will thank him for it when he’s older.
