70-year-old weather man/news anchor Al Roker absolutely loves being a grandfather, but he does find it hard not to spoil his grandchild.
On Monday (Jan 6) he revealed on the 3rd Hour of Today that his 18-month-old granddaughter, Sky, called him “pop-pop” for the first time.
She actually said pop-pop when we were there. She said ‘pop-pop!’ So I’m done. I just bought her a car.
Obviously he was joking. He didn’t actually buy her a car, but it’s obvious he’d do anything for her! He also made it clear that “pop-pop” was not her first word. She had already been saying dada and mama.

For those who don’t know, Sky belongs to his daughter Courtney. She shares the little one with her husband Wesley.
Shortly after Courtney gave birth, Roker talked about how magical it was to hold his grand baby for the first time…
The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing’ and you don’t know. It’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? … she’s just perfect.
So sweet!
