It’s been years since Cameron Diaz starred in any movie or tv show. The last time she was seen on the big screen was back in 2014 for the ‘Annie‘ film.
And that was all by design.
In a new behind-the-scenes interview for her newest film, Back In Action, the 52-year-old mom talked about how she wanted to focus on raising a family.
I said no to everything. It was just my family and my wine company, Avaline. That was what I was putting most of my focus on. If I was doing anything other than just sort of being a mom and living my day-to-day. That was pretty much it. I’m just trying to stay alive just like every other mother. I’m just trying to keep it going.
But when Jamie Foxx called her to star in this latest film, she couldn’t say no. “How do you say ‘no’ to Jamie Foxx?” she pondered.
For those who don’t know. Diaz shares two kids, Cardinal, 10 months, and Raddix, 5, with her rockstar husband, Benji Madden.
It’s not clear if Diaz plans to act in more projects now that she’s got her feet wet again, or if she’ll return to being a full-time mother to her kids. We’re willing to bet on the latter, but we’ll see.
