Joanna Gaines, of Fixer Upper fame, has four kids who have reached driving age. There’s Drake, 19, Ella, 18, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 15. She shares them all with her husband, Chip.
And to hear Joanna tell it, they’re pretty involved as parents… maybe even a little too involved?
During an interview with PEOPLE, the 46-year-old reality star admitted she uses the Life360 App to track her kids while they’re driving.
All four of my older kids are driving now. I stalk them on the app Life360! It tells you how fast they’re going.
Wow. Down to how fast they’re going? That sounds a little stressful, for both parent and kid. What are you going to do if you catch them speeding? Text them to slow down, and then potentially have them looking at their phone while driving?
Joanna struggled a lot when her eldest kids left home to enter college. She misses them so much, but there has been a silver lining…
They’re just turning into these wonderful human beings. My favorite thing is seeing them hanging out in a restaurant together as friends. Because when they were younger I was always monitoring their fights, and now they’re dear friends, which is so cool.
