Kylie Kelce, wife of former NFL star Jason Kelce, is currently pregnant with her fourth baby. She and Jason already share Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 23 months.
Despite being a pregnant busy mom of three, Kylie managed to find the time to appear on a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.
And during the interview, she talked to the all the new moms out there who might be struggling to find that connection to their newborn. She admitted that when her daughter Wyatt was born, she didn’t feel that bond right away.
I just can’t imagine feeling the feelings that I felt and not having women around me to be like, ‘That’s not abnormal.’ My dad had to pick Wyatt and I up from the hospital as a newborn. I get home and I look at this baby. For the next however many weeks, they don’t smile at you for like six to eight weeks on purpose. So you’re like grasping at straws here of like, ‘Are we cool? Are we good?’
She went on to talk about how she didn’t have that “sensationalized” moment where one just becomes a mother instantly.
I always tell moms, especially first-time moms, that six to eight weeks when they start to smile at you on purpose, like, ‘Oh we’re cool, there is a connection here.’ Because before that, they are a blob. They cry, they poop, they eat, they sleep. That’s it.
Ah, the blob stage. Yes. Fun times.
