Brenda Song and her ‘Home Alone‘ husband, Macaulay Culkin, share two sons together. They welcomed their first baby boy, Dakota, in 2021, and two years later, they welcomed their second son, Carson.
So they’re still relatively new parents, which means they are still open to advice.
During a conversation with E! News, Song talked about how her Running Point co-star, Kate Hudson, gave her some very helpful advice while they filmed together.
Kate always says, ‘Don’t get lost in being a mom, you still have to be you’ And she always pushes that with me. I’m so grateful because it’s something that we forget. We’re working so hard to focus on our kids. You feel so much mom guilt when you take a second for yourself. And it’s like, you know what? To be the best mom, we have to be the best version of ourselves.
We love that advice. You can’t lose yourself. Sure, you’re a mother, but you’re also still a person with their own wants and needs.
Apparently, Brenda and Kate really bonded while filming together. Brenda actually calls Kate a “big sister” now.
For those wondering, Kate has three kids herself, ranging from age 21 to 7. She’s a pro.
