As some of you may have heard, Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, have teamed up to create a new reality series called The Baldwins.
The description of the show reads:
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin parent and partner through one of the most momentous summers of their lives. It’s sink or swim as they try to protect their seven kids all while privately and publicly facing a challenge with potentially life-altering stakes.
And you might be wondering, “Why is Alec Baldwin doing reality TV?” After all, he’s not a Kardashian. He’s had a successful career in Hollywood as an actor.
The answer is rather simple. He wants to spend more time with his his kids. The reality show is something the whole family can do together.
He told PEOPLE the following:
When people ask me if I have any projects in the works, I say the answer isn’t a movie or a TV show or a play, although there’s nothing wrong with that. What I’m doing is this. This is what I’m doing, is raising my kids. Maybe I’ll just step aside and forget about acting and career.
For those who don’t know, Baldwin and Hilaria share seven children together, with the youngest being just 19-months-old. He also has a 28-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger. So, in total. he has 8 children.
We can certainly see why he’d want to slow down and just enjoy life with his family, especially now that he’s just four years away from hitting age 70.
