Viola Davis has done a lot of crazy things in her life, but perhaps the craziest? Jumping out of an airplane, just to “one-up” her daughter’s nanny.
She was on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ this past week to promote her new movie G20. She was asked to perform a lot of stunts in the action-thriller, including getting inside a helicopter.
They wanted me to get in the helicopter. I said, ‘I’m not getting in the helicopter!’ But at the same time, I’ve jumped out of a plane. What kind of sense does that make?
Seth, being the pro interviewer he is, asked her for more information on this plane jump, and if she ever regrets doing it…
I had many moments where I regretted that. And you know why I did it? I’m going to tell you the truth. I did it because we were on a big vacation and my nanny came. Beautiful girl. Molly. And my daughter, she jumped, and Molly jumped out of the plane. And my daughter was like, ‘Molly is so brave. Molly jumped. I love Molly,’ And I was like, ‘F— Molly.’ Mama could jump out of the plane. F— Molly. So I strapped on, I said, ‘I’m going up there.’
LOL! You have to love her honesty. We have to imagine she’s a pretty entertaining mom.
Davis shares her 14-year-old daughter Genesis with her longtime husband, Julius Tennon. No word on if Nanny Molly is still in the picture.
